New York State Campaigns and Coalitions

HCFANY is a coalition of  advocacy groups, unions, and others focusing on winning universal health care for all New Yorkers, as well as all Americans. The group hopes to help develop a comprehensive health care system that would be affordable to working families, cover their needs, and give them choices about their coverage.

Founded after the scandal surrounding the appaling state of nursing homes in New York in the 1970s, this watchdog group focuses on advocating for long term care patients, including health care reform and protecting and improving Medicare/Medicaid.

A coaltion of over 130 groups, Medicaid Matters New York focuses on advocating for the unique needs of  New York residents who are part of the Medicaid system. Lower income families and those with disablities are threatened by blows to the medicaid system, and the group focuses on protecting them.

This coalition of 53 organizations advocates for people with chronic disabilities and illnesses, such as HIV/AIDS and Multiple Sclerosis. The group targets legislators and bills focusing on health care, hoping to influence the system to benefit New York State residents.
